I have always been creative and crafty. Growing up with a Martha Stewart like mom I learned to sew at a young age and always had fun when we entertained. I would help my mom cook, bake, arrange flowers and set the table decoratively. This is probably the main reason that I started collecting china and other housewares before I was even married. Scrapbooking is my favorite hobby and I have always liked to give handmade gifts. I have made countless room decor items, mini albums, scrapbook pages, and in college I sold jewelry at local craft shows. After receiving a degree in Elementary Education from the University of Arizona I worked as a nanny and then personal assistant for a mom who built an empire in the toy industry. Fast forward 5 years and I am now pregnant with my first daughter Lauren. Wanting to stay home with Lauren but also have my own business, I opened Crissy G.'s Boutique. Crissy G.'s Boutique is an online children's boutique that offers everything for babies and beyond. I have had the opportunity to meet the most wonderful people because of having this business, but after owning it for 4 years my heart wants to take me in another direction. I am ready to pursue my creative passions and create my own products rather than just selling what other people make. I love creating new designs for my line and seeing the excitement on people's faces when they receive one of my pretties. But most of all I am a mommy who wants to support other mommies in business.
I live in Gilbert, AZ with my high school sweetheart husband of eleven years, Chad, and our two precious daughters Lauren and Emily.
My goal for this year is to get my line of jewelry and hair accessories into hundreds of boutiques across the country. With the support of my husband, Chad, and the faith I have in God I know my goal will be achieved. If you know of a boutique that should carry my products please let me know. Why Crissy G.'s? Many years ago I was watching an Oprah episode and the owner of Spanx was on. Oprah asked her how she came up with the name and she told Oprah that her marketing department told her she needed to pick a name that had the "ks" sound in it because people can easily remember that sound. Well, my grandma and my husband both call me Crissy. And that makes the "ks" sound. Put it with the initial of my last name and I thought Crissy G. was cute and easy to remember. So here I am now being called Crissy all the time. I don't mind, but I prefer to be called by my full name, which is Cristin.
